New Products, Seasonal Specials: Thanksgiving!

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Is it Thanksgiving yet?

For our customers, we're offering some specials that we're hand-picked for the Thanksgiving Table. These will go great with turkey, tofurky, seitanurky, deep-fried turkey, or turducken. And if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, they'll go great with Ramen or a salad, as well.

Pretty much everything else is available for special order (see exceptions below), but here's what we'd like to see on our table:

Corneal Pumpkin Hearth Bread: Our Thursday special should make a special Thursday appearance for you - Organic cornmeal (grown and milled in Maine), and roasted sugar pumpkins from Peabody combine to form a lovely fall bread. great for munching by itself, smeared with salted butter, or piled with Thanksgiving leftovers.

Soft Butter Rolls: A brand-new special for the holidays - soft, tender, rich, pull-apart rolls. A traditional favorite in New England diners. Here they are:

Cranberry Walnut Rolls: Spawned from our popular Cranberry Walnut Bread, these add a bit of nutty and a bit of sweety to your holiday. Split 'em in half Thanksgiving morning, heat them in the oven, and coat them with marscapone cheese and a dollop of orange marmalade.

Chocolate Pecan or Caramel Bourbon Bread Pudding: You all know these favorites. Serve at room temperature with ice cream, or if you're feeling all Jacques Pepin, make a creme angalise, coat your dessert plate, and serve slices on top. You will be lauded at genius and savior.

Large Apple Tart: No introduction necessary. A 10" version of our most popular seasonal item. Made with Cortland apples from Brooksby Farm in Peabody.

Cranberry Corn Cake: New for the Holiday! Made with organic cornmeal, and Cape Cod cranberries - hey, Cape Cod is where the Pilgrims first touched down! Slice it up like cornbread, or griddle it with melted butter until it turns golden brown. Eat it quick, before the kids or the dog grabs it!
